It was a battle for first place in the Kootenay Savings Super League last week, as Deane Horning’s Columbia Power rink with their 8-0 record, squared off against the 7-1 Darren Albo foursome, sponsored by Century 21.

This was a close game through six ends, until Horning stole two points in the seventh and eighth end, to pull away and win comfortably 9-3.

Maglio’s Russ Beauchamp team started off strong against the Rob Ferguson rink; by taking an early 3-0 lead after three ends, but Ferguson took control in the middle ends, scoring eight points, and running the Maglio team out of rocks, taking this match 8-5.

Paddy Roberts pulled another win out of his hat, despite being short-handed, outlasting Molson’s Doug Ruse and his Sr. rink 10-6

Despite scoring a big four–ender, Brittany Palmers Performance Fitness squad could not keep pace with Myron Nichol and his West Kootenay Mechanical rink, losing this game 7-4.

Brian LeMoel and his Sr. team proved to be too much for the Red Stone Resort rink, on this night by up-ending the ladies team 11-5.
