Team loses final to Brewster Reds

The Trail Jays/Safety Net Security Mid Summer Baseball Tournament July 10 – 13 featured some great baseball and gave Trail a chance to watch two Trail American Legion teams.

The Trail Mustangs were also playing in the tournament and ended up clinching third place in the tournament with their 5 – 3 win over Rutland in their game Sunday.

The Rutland Rockies, South Okanagan Tigers along with the Brewster Reds made up the five teams that battled in the Mid Summer matchup.

In the end, the Brewster Reds took the trophy against the Jays in a game that was closer than the 10 – 4 score indicated. Both teams had great pitchers and up until the last bat swung that game could have turned around.

The Brewsters had the hits in the game Sunday. Earlier in the week when the teams met, the Jays had taken the game.

This weekend, Trail has more chances to come out and cheer on the Jays. They play two double headers this weekend. Saturday sees the Jays playing the Coeur d’Alene Lumberman at 4 p.m. and then again at 7 p.m. at Butler Park.

Sunday the Post Fall Cardinals take the field against the Jays at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at Butler.

These are the last two home games for the Jays this season.

The Jays record so far this season is 7 – 5 Conference, 25 – 13 overall.
