Land could provide seniors opportunities

Dear Editor:
In reference to town land formerly leased to the Golden Horseshoe Club:
Two years ago the Golden Seniors Co-op had plans in place for the development of a complex based on an aging in place concept. This was to be built using the existing Seniors Centre as part of the development. The location is ideal and would have created a much needed facility in our town. The Horseshoe Club had initially agreed to give up the property but at the last minute changed their mind. Unfortunately the Co-op was not able to find any other suitable land and the project was abandoned along with the Co-op society.
Perhaps the town would find a way to keep this land available for any future development for Seniors.
