The Farmer’s Market enjoyed its last day of beautiful fall weather, Sunday, September 26. The season was a great success and many new vendors added tables to the market this year.
Patty Nickisch, manager of the Farmer’s Market, had some closing words for the season.
“Every year we’re getting more vendors, and every year we get a little bit bigger. We’re now averaging about 22 vendors on an average day,” said Nickisch.
Nickisch also noted that The Farmer’s Market is about more than selling local products. There’s often great local entertainment bringing people out.
“A lot of people come just to hear the music,” adds Nickisch.
Chad Parent, at Willowbanks Soap Co., echoed the sentiment that the market is bringing people out to enjoy a good atmosphere.
A lot of people come to the market to socialize, says Parent. I have some customers that will come and talk to me for 20 minutes. I’ll look over at some of the others tables an hour later and see the same person talking over there.
“I think a lot of people are just having a good time listening to music and eating,” says Parent.
Next year we could see a change in location for the Market. There’s some discussion about moving the market over to Spirit Square, said Nickisch. Nothing is finalized yet, but look for some more discussion on this in the future.
