Jenkins-Bennett fundraiser: Help support former hockey alumni

Hello Rockets Alumni,

Family and Friends, We need your help to help one of our own. Rocket Alumni player Allie Jenkins-Bennett has been stricken with MS - Multiple Sclerosis. Allie is a 22 year old, born and raised Field/Golden boy. In his younger days Allie was most often found on the hockey rink or any other sports field, depending on the season. He was diagnosed just as he was entering his 2nd year at Mount Royal College. Luckily his health held out long enough for him to complete a degree in Business with a major in Sport and Recreation. Unfortunately, over the last year, his disease has progressed more rapidly than we expected. However, Allie is not one to give up without a fight, so we are asking for your help to secure a future for Allie where he will not be in a wheelchair or bedridden.

There is an experimental treatment that has had good results against this disease but it means a very expensive trip out of country. He and his family need to raise $40,000. There are several fundraisers on the go but none from the hockey world that Ali was a part of. In support of Ali we will be giving all proceeds from the Alumni Game to Ali’s fight. We know that its not much time as we have been waiting to find out if we have ice but we really need you. Please consider the cause, come sober, play a game for a team-mate and then enjoy the rest of the weekend renewing old acquaintenances.
