Hockeyville, Elizabethan Era, Christmas Hampers, Follies and more ...

Hockeyville! The Revelstoke leadership group is teaming up with Gary McLaughlin and getting RSS excited! We will be hosting a Hockeyville story contest during lunch this week to get people writing stories and assisting people in figuring out what to write about. We hope to help make this dream of Hockeyville coming to Revelstoke come true!

Yes, it may seem early but RSS is starting to plan Grade 12 post-secondary applications. There is a meeting being held at RSS on Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. to talk about scholarship applications and apprenticeship programs. This gives students a better understanding and opportunity to free money for post-secondary.

On Dec. 9 RSS English teachers are hosting the annual Elizabethan feast! This is a night of knights, queens, sword fights and Shakespearean based skits. Grade 12 students are getting their costumes and skits perfected for this eventful night.

The annual Christmas follies are an opportunity for RSS students to impress and entertain their peers with those talents that aren’t always of use in the classroom. Auditions are starting next week so put on those dancing shoes and grab those drumsticks because its going to be another great show!

Every year RSS proudly supports the Revelstoke Christmas Food Hamper. The way we work it is that each class gets a family to support and with that comes a list of necessities so the gifts and food items are more personalized and practical for the families. Last year was a great success and were hoping to meet that goal or excel it this year!

Volleyball is coming to an end and bouncing upon us is basketball! Lets hope the basketball teams have as much success as volleyball did!
