IHA announces first Revelstoke H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccination clinic

The Interior Health Authority this afternoon announced the first combined H1N1/seasonal flu vaccination clinic in Revelstoke.
The clinic will take place at the Revelstoke Community Centre on Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Eligibility for the first round of immunizations is limited to the following categories: pregnant women in the second half of pregnancy; persons under age 65 with chronic conditions; children 6 – 59 months of age; household contacts and
care providers of infants under 6 months of age; household contacts and care providers of persons who are immunocompromised; persons residing in rural and remote communities; including the Aboriginal population; health care workers involved in responding to pandemic influenza.
An IHA press release dated Oct. 28 says the health authority will be updating their list of clinics every Wednesday, and these weekly lists will inform residents of clinics coming up in the following week.
The IHA says both vaccines are also available through physician offices and also at some pharmacies in the coming weeks.
