About Us

The Times Review is your best source for information and news about Revelstoke. We offer complete coverage of hard news, sports, arts, cultural and community events as well as a forum for the expression of public opinion on the issues of the day. We take our role seriously and are very proud of our community. Life does feel more relaxed here and it's not just the pure mountain air that infuses you with a sense of well-being; it's the friendliness of local residents and their ability to make you feel as though you belong here. With about 8,000 people this pocket-sized city offers residents and visitors a wide range of activities and amenities, some of which such as its Visual Arts Centre, and new Aquatic Centre are not available in other nearby communities. It is home to many fine artists and artisans, a nightly concert series in Grizzly Plaza during the summer and boasts five museums. If you're from out of town and here for one of the community's several festivals (such as the Chickadee Nature Festival in May, the Mountains Beats and Blues Festival in June, this June and July's, Railway Days in August or the Mountain Arts Festival in September) then you will almost certainly see much of what Revelstoke has to offer. There is a Visitor Info Centre right downtown across from the bandstand at Grizzly Plaza that offers guidance on things to do and see from the Railway Museum and the local Revelstoke Museum and Archives to the Visual Arts Centre, B.C. Interior Forestry Museum and the Fire Department's own small museum. It also has maps for great self-guided walking tours of the city's lovely Victorian and Edwardian homes as well as information on some of the short hikes available on the lower slopes of Mount Revelstoke National Park. If you're looking for good food then there are several terrific restaurants and pubs downtown that offer great eats and some fantastic local beers brewed by Mount Begbie Brewery. If you enjoy browsing for antiques there are a number of shops in town that may have something that interests you or drop by one of our local private galleries or the Visual Arts Centre and peruse the paintings and sculpture on offer. Or if you'd like to cool off why not go for a swim at the City's gorgeous new Aquatic Centre? One of the nice things about living here is that almost everything is within walking distance. Maps are available at the Chamber of Commerce's Visitor Information Centre on Grizzly Plaza. But if you do get lost don't be shy, ask a local for directions. They'll gladly help you with a smile. Welcome to Revelstoke!
