Police move Shambhala-goers from parks, CP rail building

The Nelson Police had a busy week with the arrival of many transient people with no place to sleep for the nights before Shambhala.

Police removed illegal campers from city parks, as well as the CP rail property.

Several people were arrested for public intoxication and consuming liquor in public.

On August 6 and off duty police officer spotted a male known to police who had recently been released from jail on the condition that he remain at least 42 kilometres outside of Nelson.

The 47-year-old attempted to escape through some yards, but was taken into custody without incident. He appeared in court the next day.
