Nelson Police arrested two Calgary men who were travelling through town in a stolen vehicle on July 25.

Around 10:40 p.m. police stopped the 26 and 32 year olds in a Chevrolet pickup truck during a routine road block at Poplar Street and Front Street on Highway 3A/B.

Police became suspicious when neither man was the registered owner of the truck and the men were unable to produce identification. They both appeared nervous and gave different stories of where they were going.

Police detained the men and searched the vehicle, discovering $38,000 cash and a 500 gram package of marijuana. The men were arrested until their identity could be confirmed.
