Arrests made in Nelson after seven-month drug investigation

The Nelson Police Department has wrapped up a seven-month investigation that has yielded three arrests and six arrest warrants.

Police say the investigation was carried out “primarily in licensed premises, in public places, ‘dial-a-dope’ operations and at the Holy Smoke Culture Shop,” said a press release.

Some of the methods used in the investigation included wiretaps, cellphone cloning, surveillance, undercover officers, source and agent development and search warrants.

Francis John Dukart, 57, of Nelson has been charged with three counts of trafficking in cocaine and one count of possession of cocaine with the purpose of trafficking. Dukart’s truck has also been seized by police as ‘offence-related property.’ He is scheduled to appear in Nelson provincial court on August 11.

David Andrew Dukart, 34, has been charged with one count of trafficking in marijuana. He is also scheduled to appear in court on August 11.

Bao Duc Nguyen has been charged with two counts of trafficking in ecstasy and one count of possession of ecstasy for the purpose of trafficking. He is also set to appear in court August 11.

Police are also holding arrest warrants for the following people: Gabriel Lajoie, 26, who has been charged with two counts of trafficking in marijuana from the Holy Smoke Culture Shop; Sean Patrick Dukart, 30, who has been charged with three counts of trafficking cocaine; Tylor Ross, 29, who has been charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine; Steven Edward Haddow, 31, who has been charged with one count of trafficking in cocaine; Tamlyn Adam Peterson, 25, who has been charged with one count of trafficking in cocaine; and Tyler Stephen Vaccher, 26, who has been charged with one count of trafficking in marijuana.
