The 2009 Jaffray Firefighter’s Raffle has raised thousands of dollars for new playground equipment at the Jaffray School.

“As firefighters, being part of the community is very important to us and it feels good to know we are giving back through projects such as this one,” said Jaffray Baynes Lake Fire Chief, Dave Boreen.

“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s raffle and would like to thank everyone who supported us by making donations and buying tickets.”

In total $5,000 was raised.

The prize winners were Shannon Atwood, who won an Arctic Cat Prowler Side by Side ATV, Ailsa Hebert won a Honda CRF 70 Dirt Bike, while Warren Boardman won a Honda Generator.

The total prize value was $15,000. Only 200 tickets were printed and sold at $100 per ticket. The firefighters raffle sold out in June, a month and a half before the draw date.

“The support for this raffle was truly phenomenal and I can’t thank the community enough,” added Boreen.
