Kate Fox, president of the Cranbrook Healthcare Auxiliary, looked sharp on the runway dressed in a pale blue silk crepe suit trimmed with blue satin. The outfit, which fetched $100 in the silent auction, was accessorized by a silver/grey fox boa.
Fox was one of the models at the Beer and Crackers Fashion Show held at the Prestige Inn. The models were all dressed in attire from the Auxiliary Thrift Store, which was sold by auction.
The show was a sell out with 297 tickets sold and an amazing $8,514.75 profit raised for the Cranbrook Healthcare Auxiliary (CHA).
"It went really well; the support from people was wonderful," said Sandy Zeznik, First Vice-President of the CHA and one of the models. "We couldn't sell anymore tickets - we ran out of room. We had really excellent support from the community with donations and deals for prizes."
The CHA operates the thrift store downtown as well as the gift shop at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. Money raised by the CHA goes towards such things as equipment for the hospital.
