The Annual Studio Art Show of George C. Hogg, international western artist, will be taking place on Saturday, October 17 from 12 noon - 8 p.m. and on Sunday, October 18 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. The shows take place at Hogg's studio on 554 Church Avenue in Kimberley and there will be no charge.
Hogg has been involved professionally in the international art world for the last 40 years, and has been very successful in many juried arat shorws both in Canada and the United States (some of the more well-known are: the C.M. Russell Art Show, The Ellensburgh National Art Show, and the Calgary Stampede Art Show). He is a six time award winner at various juried shows. As well, he has had both one-man shows and participated in group shows throughout the Western United States and Canada.
His Indian work is very popular and has sold world wide, with sales outlets in Europe, Canada and the U.S. He very beautifully depicts the landscapes of our Rocky Mountains, the rivers and the lakes of British Columbia and Alberta, and captures our history in his portrayal of old and restored buildings.
During his travels to other countries, he gathers materials so that he might paint the images when he gets back to the studio, so the brightness and beauty of Mexico, her people and landmarks are remembered in his work. The variety of his subjects is great and it is a pleasure to view his paintings.
