EKCCU announces winners for Relay ‘Entertainment Raffle’

The East Kootenay Community Credit Union (EKCCU) Financial Planning and Kootenay Insurance Services (KIS) have been involved in the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life since 2003. As part of their community fundraising, EKCCU organized the annual and ever-popular Relay For Life ‘Entertainment Package Raffle’ and is pleased to announce the 2009 winners. The first prize entertainment package was won by Claire McMillan. The prize packaged included a 47 inch flat screen LCD High Definition TV, a Nintendo Wii Gaming System, ‘Guitar Hero,’ and a $100 gift card to EB Games. Norma Morrow won the second prize package which included a Nintendo Wii Gaming System donated by Kootenay Insurance Services (KIS) and $50 gift card to EB Games.
“The EKCCU raffle is a fun way we work together each year to raise funds in our community for cancer research, cancer prevention initiatives and community support programs." said EKCCU employee, Relay For Life participant and cancer survivor, Cindy Stekman. "We thank the community for supporting our raffle and look forward to organizing this again in 2010.”
The East Kootenay Community Credit Union (EKCCU) Financial Planning and Kootenay Insurance Services (KIS) raised $11,689 for the Canadian Cancer Society’s 10th Cranbrook Relay For Life. Donations came from the raffle ticket sales, team donations, EKCCU’s Community Giving, KIS and CEO Jody Burk’s head shave.
