A young black bear had to pay for his curiosity with his life. On Wednesday morning around 8 am, the animal was spotted on Hill Avenue in Cranbrook, off King Street. Four hours later, after several more sightings, the bear was located on the north side of Pop Price Park, near a playground. As the bear had gotten a bit too close to some residents, it was put down by the conservation officer.
