The million dollar question?
Anyone concerned about climate change and clean energy will applaud the choice of Manitoba’s long-time NDP premier, Gary Doer, as Canada’s new ambassador to the U.S. He has proven his credentials.
Manitoba’s new NDP premier, Greg Selinger, isn’t likely to let things slip backwards either. Like Doer, Selinger is committed to maximizing Manitoba’s renewable electricity potential and he recently described a major electricity sales agreement with Minnesota Power as “a win-win situation for all parties involved.”
Doer and Selinger’s strong support for the win-win opportunities made possible by Manitoba’s renewable electricity exports leads to an obvious question for British Columbians: Why are Doer and Selinger’s NDP counterparts here in B.C. so stubbornly opposed to pursuing similar win-win opportunities for our province? That’s the million dollar question.
