Many thanks to all of you
Mid-morning on Tuesday, Oct. 6, I was admitted to the Invermere and District Hospital by the ER triage nurses (Vilma and Cindy) and placed under the care of the rotating physician Dr. Dibb with conditions apparently affecting my heart.
I wish to express my appreciation for the thoughtful and competent care that I received.
While I was unaware of everything that was going on around me, in all probability there was some consultation and communication and as it turns out, Dr. Dibb’s assessment and diagnosis was dead on – if it had been dead off, I wouldn’t be writing this letter.
It was decided to remove me later that day by ambulance to the cardiac ICU at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary.
It wasn’t until that afternoon when I was placed in an ambulance in care of a nurse (Anne) and the EMS personnel (Sandra and Leisha) that the seriousness of my situation dawned on me and a macho bravado 75-year-old became a frightened little boy in care of competent professionals whose confidence allayed my worst fears.
