October 14: Columbia Valley Detachment is investigating a complaint where an 18-year-old was convinced to hand over a large amount of cash to a 31-year-old male in Invermere advising that he would invest the money for the young man. The complaint being investigated is theft.

Police have concerns that there may be other victims of this who have handed over money with the idea the money is being invested.

In many instances, this type of complaint is civil in nature, however, the circumstances in this instance require further investigation.

October 17: Columbia Valley Detachment responded to a complaint in the 4000 block of Black Forest Trail. A 48-year-old female was charged with assault. There were no injuries to the victim. A court date was set for December.
