Gathering of Readers features local author
Just in time for Halloween, the Almanac of the Infamous, the Incredible, and the Ignored will be officially released on Oct. 28, 7:30 p.m. at Pynelogs Cultural Centre. Friends of Invermere Public Library present local author Juanita Rose Violini to talk about and read from her well-researched new book. Book lovers, mystery buffs, or anyone curious about the unexplained will be fascinated by the Almanac and Juanita’s presentation. But Violini’s book is not just for this traditionally strange and eerie time of the year. With 365 well-documented and mind-boggling phenomena, there is a mystery, a quote and a secret power for every day of the year.
“Some of these mysteries are well known,” says Violini, “but many have almost been lost, and will be brand new to readers. It is amazing how much we miss, or even refuse to see, in our own lives. If everyone started their day with a dose of the unexplained, how much more might reveal itself to us?”
Violini spent more than 10 years researching strange phenomena. From frog falls and crop circles to reincarnated Egyptian priestesses and fabulous monster sightings, the world around us is much less ordinary than it seems. The Almanac of the Infamous, the Incredible, and the Ignored details well-documented – and truly mind-boggling – real life mysteries to remind us just how magical life really is.
Please join the Friends of Invermere Library for a fascinating evening of mysterious literature, stimulating discussion and refreshments. The Almanac of the Infamous, the Incredible, and the Ignored will be available for purchase and signing by the author. Donations to the Friends of the Library are very much appreciated.
