Columbia Valley Detachment members worked the Car Show on Saturday with extra members working. A number of tickets were issued to drivers that were found to be in violation of the Motor Vehicle Act. All the tickets were for causing loud and unnecessary noise along with a driver without due care and attention.

This was my first Car Show event and I found that given all the vehicles that attended the show, only a small percentage decided to put on a show for the public.

Again, the majority of the people were car enthusiasts that enjoyed looking at some of the work done by the owners while a minority didn’t seem to appreciate the police attending to put a bit of a damper on the parade. It is the same minority of people that did not appreciate the enforcement who are the first to go very vocal when something goes wrong and demand to know why the police were not visible.
