After months of hype, the Autumn Show and Shine finally rolled its way out on to the green grass of the Springs driving range in the Village of Radium Hot Springs.

The lineup to get into the golf course was long in the morning as all the cars were coming from different directions but there was no chaos.

Organizers did a great job moving what looked to be the biggest car show to ever hit the village.

As the thousands of car enthusiasts strolled around, the faces in the crowd were full of amazement.

It was a photographer’s dream with classic cars gleaming in the sun in what looked like a river of chrome as you walked on to the field.

But the cars were only part of the show. As you wandered through the show friends were reunited at the event. People talking about bygone times and telling each other versions of the same stories.

One of the stories told was about two men and their cars. One man owned a Model A and the other a Smart car. The man who owned the Model A was spending the weekend in the valley with his wife who thought the Smart car was very interesting.

The owner of the Smart car offered his car to the people to take for a ride. Out of the blue the Model A owner handed over the keys to his vintage car and offered the same.

Two people who, before the weekend did not know each other, gave each other a chance to do something a little different. This was the part of the weekend that should not be lost. People who come together and have a great time in a great way.
