The Head of the Columbia Trail officially opened in Canal Flats this past Sunday, with former MP Jim Abbott, Canal Flats mayor Colin Cartwright and Columbia Valley Greenways Alliance director Nick Berzins cutting the ribbon. The 1.5 km loop trail is the first phase of the proposed Greenways trail that would run the length of the Columbia and the wetlands to Golden. lindsay mcpherson/echo photo
