There comes a time in life for a lot of folks when they are driven to try something new. For Eric Redeker that time is now.

Eric has been involved in the real estate industry for over 15 years and has just recently made the decision to start up his own business called First Choice Realty.

The business will be opened in Invermere with both Eric and his wife Yvonne working in the office.

The location will be in the Lake Auto building recently vacated by Kicking Horse Ford on Main Street.

“I am especially pleased with the location we have chosen. Being on main street in Invermere’s downtown is a great venue for a real estate company,” said Eric, who felt this was the right time for him to make this move.

“I have been in the real estate industry for over 15 years and I have always worked for other companies. Yvonne and I thought it was time to take charge of our own destiny. At this stage of our lives it is a perfect new beginning,” he said. Currently his plans are straight- forward.

“The plans are to continue what I have been doing over the past 15 years which is offering property management services, real estate sales and marketing and timeshare resales.

“I aim to give really good service to the clients I work with. Being a sole proprietor of the business, I can manage my clients’ needs better than if they were a part of a large group,” he added.

Looking back over the past 15 plus years, Eric has had many great memories.

“It has been a great 15 years. Going through the boom years in real estate was a pleasure. Now that things are a little bit harder, we all have to put a bit more effort into our work and provide better service than ever before.”

Having a closer relationship with his clients is something that Eric believes will help him by having his own company.

“From a selling point of view you have to cover multiple listings and other realtors’ business as well… but there will be more of a personal touch with me controlling the company for the clients that list with me.”

Another benefit for Eric is being able to work with his wife.

“I am very excited to work with Yvonne,” he said adding that he would love to see his children enter the business at some point as well. In the end Eric hopes “to provide excellent service to my clients and pay attention to details that are important to them.”

The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday and people are welcomed to drop in.
