Beaver Valley Nitehawk Aaron Hadley has been picked out of a huge pool of Canadian talent for the World Under 17 Challenge 2010 team representing Canada Pacific.

Hadley was picked by scouts who have kept an eye on him since early 2009. Out of 12,000 kids playing in B.C., 120 players play in the B.C. Cup, From this number 46 are picked for the provincial camp where 22 are shortlisted in July. The final 11 players are picked from B.C. to join 11 from Alberta to make up the Pacific team.

"I'm really excited to represent B.C. and Alberta," said Hadley moments after he found out he would be on Canada’s Pacific team.

"I've been trying to be the hardest working player working on my defense and offense, so it's great to see it pay off."

Sixteen-year-old Hadley will be joining three other Junior B players on the B.C. side of the Pacific roster with the rest from the WHL.

Dennis Mckinnon, one of the evaluators who was watching Hadley said he showed a promising game early on.

"Aaron got off to a great start, he seems like the Pacific type of player. He's big, he finishes his checks and I think he'll do very well," said McKinnon, a high performance coordinator with B.C. Hockey.

"It's a great accomplishment for him to represent on the world stage. I think it shows where he's going."

The U-17 Challenge will be taking place in Timmons, ON beginning on Dec. 26.
