“We’ve been encouraging them to shoot and this is based on them being hungry around the net. We have outshot almost every team this season,” said Heaven.
The Rebels came out strong during the first period with three goals, the first by Corey Bulach with an assist from Tyler Robinson and Ben Bula. The second goal by Ryan Renz came quickly after that with an assist from Stuart Walton and Cory Coles. The third goal, came during a power play. Tempers flared during the second period when both teams received numerous penalties.
“There was a bit of a line brawl and one of Beaver Valley’s players took liberty on one of our players. While we never encourage brawls, it was good to see that the team stood up for themselves,” Brent said.
Beaver Valley fought back in the third and did succeed and scoring once again, but by the end of the game it just wasn’t enough and the Rebels skated away with a two goal lead.
