Generosity never tires

Editor,
I’m writing in hopes that your newspaper will allow us to publicly thank Steve and Sharon Postnikoff and their staff at O.K. Tire in Castlegar for saving our recent trip through B.C. to celebrate our grandson’s birthday in Abbotsford.
After our van had totally broken down (beyond repair) near Radium on Oct. 20 we were towed to Cranbrook where we had to purchase a used van from a car dealer there. We continued our trip west, arriving in Castlegar late evening, October 22, with no brakes! (I’m afraid we’re not done with the Cranbrook dealer, yet).
When we got to Castlegar we were referred to O.K. Tire. Steve and Sharon were also extremely busy, however they took us in immediately, were very hospitable, installed new brakes, assessed other deficiencies in the van’s steering parts, picked up our luggage from our motel and sent us on our way within an hour and a half! We arrived in Abbotsford in time for the birthday.
The people in your area are probably already aware of the Postnikoff’s willingness to help however we’d just like to be able to add our gratitude. Castlegar has definitely become a town to visit by all our friends who travel through B.C. Thank You!
