You have likely heard them speak, read their comments in the newspaper and, chances are, some of them may have knocked on your door.
After a few weeks of intensive campaigning, the day is nearly upon us. Tuesday, we head to the polls, that is if after our Thanksgiving turkey we can get out of bed..
Still confused about who to vote for? Don’t panic.
The answer is sitting right in front of you.
This weekend is Thanksgiving. It’s a time to get together with loved ones and talk about what we are thankful.
Pay particular attention to your response because that is your answer.
Are you thankful for your family’s health? Which candidate is best going to protect it?
Are you thankful for the roof over your head? Which candidate is going to help you keep it there?
This may seem like an overly simplistic way of looking at things. It is, not everything is so black and white. A candidate may hit the nail on the head for one issue, but what about his/her stance on the three issues you don’t agree with? You may like the outcome of a platform, but question the platform itself.
Politics is a deep, complex game after all, and those involved know the playbook very well.
The point is, over the last four weeks, you have likely been bombarded with information from this newspaper, other newspapers, TV and radio to the point you have just turned the page, changed the channel or tuned out. It’s OK to admit it.
When this election got underway, we asked you to hold fast to what is important to you and we hope those issues were covered during the campaign.
In the end, only you can make the right decision for yourself.
