A man is facing charges after an incident at about 10 a.m. Oct. 21 in the 600 block of 7th Ave. in Castlegar.

Castlegar RCMP say the man, whose name can’t be released until formally charged, was taken into custody and is facing charges of uttering threats and two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.

According to Cpl. Deb of the Castlegar RCMP the 20-year-old man entered the residence and threatened to bear spray several individuals who are known to him.

Police were called, but the man quickly fled on foot prior to their arrival.

A description was given and police quickly found the suspect and took him into custody a short distance from the residence.

When arrested the man was found carrying bear spray and a baton.

It was later discovered that he was wanted for two outstanding warrants in the Fraser Valley.
