Youth receives driving suspension

Nelson RCMP say a 17-year-old Castlegar youth received a 12-hour suspension after he was caught running a red light.

The incident happened at 2 a.m. Saturday morning near the Nelson and District Community Complex. The youth is a new driver, and police say one of his restrictions was not to have any alcohol in his body.

In other police news, a diamond ring was found at Castlegar’s Safeway. Call 365-7721 to claim.
