The Southeast Fire Centre is reporting the smoke hanging around the Castlegar area on Sunday, August 2 is from the Galena Bay and Terrace Mountain fires.
Crews continue to fight the Galena Bay fire which is being pushed south by wind and dry conditions.
Crews throughout the region were also fighting 23 new lighting-caused fires on August 1.
