Study in beauty — This simple runner is beautifully handmade by the Selkirk Weavers’ and Spinners Guild.

Here is an invitation for all fibre lovers in the West Kootenays!

The Selkirk Weavers’ and Spinners’ Guild is presenting their fibre feast of handwoven work on Friday, Nov. 13 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission is free to this event at the Quality Inn, 1935 Columbia Ave., Castlegar.

Scarves, shawls, and blankets woven with lovely natural fibres such as silk, wool, and mohair will delight the tactile senses, while tea towels, table runners, and placemats finely woven in cotton and linen thread will provide timeless, classic beauty for any home.

The Selkirk Weavers’ and Spinners’ Guild, a non-profit organization, meets at the Doukhobor Discovery Centre, across from the Castlegar Airport on the third Wednesday of each month, at 10 a.m. New members and guests are always welcome. Contact Sandra Donohue at 250-365-7084.
