Skate-a-Thon

Figure skaters spent an hour straight working on their skills Saturday during a fundraising skate-a-thon. The Nakusp Figure Skating Club has 48 members this year, most of which participated and received pledges for the event. The season for fi gure skating kicked off on Oct. 19 this year with skaters practicing at least once a week. The coach for the third year in a row is Sabrina Hinson from Castlegar. This is the club’s second fundraiser this season, with money collected going towards ice rental and coaching fees. Above, Lindsay Cann (left) and Daniele Aeichele (middle) lead laps around the rink.
