ALAC presents Duo Solista after performance postponed
Updated: October 20, 2009 5:16 PM
On Saturday, Oct. 24, the Arrow Lakes Arts Council will be presenting Duo Solista at the Bonnington Arts Centre. Postponed from April, when Dmitry broke his hand, the artists are now coming to perform their dynamic and exciting violin and piano duos.
Violinist Olga Kotova and pianist Dmitry Nesterov like to reflect their dedication to being both solo artists and partners. Establishing themselves as solo concert performers, they have played together since the age of seventeen, when they were classmates at Moscow Central Music School. Before coming to Canada in 1994, they toured with solo and joint recitals as well as with orchestras in Russia, Eastern Europe, Germany, England and the USA.
Now they live in Calgary, where they teach at Mt. Royal College. Olga is also a member of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Olga and Dmitry both earned Masters in Music Performance degrees from the University of Calgary. They are appearing for their fourth concert in Nakusp.
The Arrow Lakes Arts Council would like to thank Casa Mandala for hosting this concert. Come and join us for an evening of energetic and vibrant music at 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Bonnington Arts Centre. Tickets will be at the Broadway Deli, then at the door. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
