Three people were wounded Saturday night during a shooting outside the annual Squamish Nation PowWow gathering in West Vancouver.
West Vancouver Police Cpl. Fred Harding said in a release that shots were fired just after 11 p.m. All three injured during the shooting were rushed to hospital.
"Their respective conditions at this stage are unknown but they are believed to be alert and conscious," Harding said in a release.
The annual Squamish Nation PowWow, one of the largest in British Columbia, takes place at the Squamish Nation Capilano Reserve Park, from July 10-12, attracting thousands.
On Sunday those in attendance at PowWow were asked to observe a minute of silence for those involved in Saturday's shooting.
The triple shooting occurred just hours before Sunday's anti-abuse, anti-violence rally on the North Shore, Harding said.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact West Van police at 604-925-7300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
