New West's Enegren gets win for Express

It took five games for the Burnaby Express to win their first game of the 2008-09 B.C. Hockey League season, so defeating the hometown Cowichan Valley Capitals 4-3 in their 2009-10 season opener last Friday automatically gets them off to a better start than last season.
Although the Capitals got the game’s opening goal, the Express had a 2-1 lead after the first period with captain Dylan Herold—on the power play—and Rich Manley scoring for Burnaby.
Manley, a Buffalo native making his return to the Express after a year playing in the United States Hockey League, scored his second 30 seconds into the second period with Jon Puskar increasing Burnaby’s lead to 4-1 heading into the third. Puskar also had two assists as did Garrick Perry.
Nick Enegren, a 16-year-old New Westminster native, made 26 saves to get the win.
The Express are at the South Surrey Arena to play the Surrey Eagles on Friday with their home opener being the next night against the Powell River Kings.
