The Coquitlam Adanacs continued to play the home-floor advantage by defeating the New Westminster Jr. Salmonbellies 7-4 Wednesday.
That gives the A's a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League final with Game 6 at Queen's Park Arena on Friday, 8 p.m. So far in the series, all the games have been won on the home team's floor.
If New Westminster wins Friday, the seventh and deciding game will go Sunday in Coquitlam.
The second period did the Salmonbellies in Wednesday. They held a 2-1 lead after the first period, but in the second the A's scored the only four goals of the period while outshooting the ’Bellies 21-11. They held a 37-34 advantage overall.
Daniel McQuade scored twice for New West with the others going to Kevin Crowley and Brett Mydske. Matthew Dinsdale scored twice for Coquitlam.
If the Salmonbellies hope to advance to the Minto Cup they'll not only have to win Friday but they'll also have to find a way to win at the Coquitlam Sports Centre on Sunday.
"That's not easy. We haven't played that well in their building. Now is as good a time as any to do it," Zack said before Wednesday's game.
"No excuses, we haven't played our best out there and Coquitlam has taken full advantage of it. We've just got to bear down and forget about the past."
