Jr. ’Bellie clinch third despite loss to Shamrocks

The New Westminster Salmonbellies headed into their BCJALL game Tuesday against the Langley Thunder at Queen’s Park Arena having clinched third place. At 11-7-1 they could not catch second place Victoria. The Shamrocks improved to 15-5 by edging the Salmonbellies 9-8 Sunday in Victoria. Tyler Digby had three goals and an assist for New West while Mark Negrin had two of each.

Last Friday, the ’Bellies slammed the hometown Port Coquitlam Saints 17-8. Curtis Dickson, who had three assists in Victoria, scored three goals and four assists while Negrin netted four goals and assisted on two. Kevin Crowley had three of each. Leif Mydske also scored three times and Jordan Howes potted two.

The Salmonbellies finish their season tonight (Thursday) in Langley.
