Letter writer off track

I did not, as Brian O’Neill falsely alleges, say the public did not have a hand in building the CPR.
In fact, I said the opposite.
I wrote that “government contributed a great deal of money and land.”
What part of that statement did Mr. O’Neill not understand?
My point was that equating the transcontinental railway with the creation of the publicly-owned CBC, and then stating that “the railway system has long since fallen into the private sector,” is misleading.
The railway system was in the private sector to begin with: that is a fact.
