What is Fin running for?
Updated: October 30, 2009 3:59 PM
Lately I’ve been wondering, does Fin Donnelly know what election he is running in?
First he proclaims himself the champion of the Evergreen Line extension for SkyTrain; except Jack Layton and the Ottawa NDP voted against the funding for the extension.
Then Fin says he would raise the voice for adequate funding for the Evergreen Line, ignoring the fact the Conservative government has already given $416 million and construction starts in 2011 and will be completed by 2014. The real discussion around the Evergreen Line is the operating shortfall from TransLink, which is a local government matter. Fin then attacks the Conservative government on the proposed HST announced by the BC Liberal government. Again it’s a provincial decision in a provincial jurisdiction.
As an NDP candidate, Fin is either unaware of the fact that if he wants to solve his main issues, he needs to run provincially and not federally, or he is hoping voters won’t notice him running on “knee jerk” issues that as an MP he will have no say in.
