Fraser Health Authority is holding a H1N1 vaccine clinic today (Tuesday, Nov. 17) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Queens Park Arena.
This clinic is for the following high-priority groups:
- People of all ages with chronic health conditions
- All pregnant women
- Children six months of age to 18 years of age
- People less than 65 years of age who are household members and care providers of infants less than six months of age
- People less than 65 years of age who are household members and care providers of people who have weakened immune systems
- Emergency first responders (firefighters, police officers, paramedics).
The non-adjuvanted vaccine is now available for pregnant women through maternity clinics, public H1N1 clinics and doctors’ offices that see obstetrical patients. Adjuvants are compounds that boost the immune system’s response to vaccine, allowing smaller doses to be used per person.
