Front street open after yogurt flood

Front Street is now open after being closed for part of Thursday.

The major transportation corridor was closed after a trunk overturned around midnight Wednesday. A fully-loaded tractor trailer with 30,000 pounds of yogurt rolled over. The truck had hit a concrete barrier, causing the vehicle to weave sharply and subsequently flip onto its side, police said, slightly injuring the driver. No other motorists were involved.

At about 9:30 a.m., Front Street was briefly re-opened—after city engineering crews completed the removal of the truck and trailer unit, removed the spilled diesel fuel and replaced the damaged concrete dividers—only to be closed again soon thereafter.
