New Westminster school district has seen a small enrolment increase in the number of Kindergarten to Grade 12 students. Enrollment as of Tuesday is 6,129, an increase of about 100 students over projections made last year.
The biggest increase came in what the school district calls distributed learning, including international education, home learners and the program run out of Bowen Island. That program’s expected enrolment of 185 was surpassed by 40 extra students. At the secondary level there was a 3.2 per cent increase while the total number of elementary and middle school students dropped by half a per cent.
