Drunk man falls through store window

A Surrey man suffered severe cuts after falling through a plate glass window on Sixth Street early Saturday morning.

According to police the man was walking up the steep grade and intoxicated at the time when he fell into the glass window front of New Westminster Cycle and Sport—less than a block away from the police station—around 2:30 a.m.

He was alone at the time. Fortunately the breaking of the window was heard by a nearby resident who called 9-1-1.

The man suffered deep wounds to his right bicep and forearm that went right to the bone.

The 19-year-old man was found a lying on the ground by police, who called for an ambulance to assist. He was later transported to Royal Columbian Hospital for treatment.
