Construction on the pedestrian overpass linking the Victoria Hill development and Queen's Park is slated to begin soon.
Project developer Onni Group said the overpass will cross McBride Boulevard approximately at Memorial Drive, connecting to the park east of the Queen's Park Arenex.
The project is being undertaken as part of the company's obligation in its negotiation with the city, to serve as a benefit to all residents.
The design was jointly developed between Onni and the city.
The company plans to complete the footings and approaches between now and March 2009, and place the bridge span in the spring. Completion is expected by July 2009.
During the first phase of the project, a portion of the Millennium Trail below the Queen's Park Arenex will be temporarily diverted to accommodate construction.
