Buy a house! Buy a car!
While that refrain from the first Quayside Boardwalk Festival and Sale, when one vendor was selling his $600,000 condo and another a car, likely won’t repeat itself at the third annual festival, there will be still be hundreds of bargains and treasures to be had on the boardwalk alongside the Fraser River Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Up to 75 tables will offer up everything from kitchenware to books, to furniture, to sporting goods to crafts to home electronics. The New Westminster Lions Club will fuel shoppers with barbecued hot dogs and the musical ambiance will be provided by The Jamie Dale Band and Legal Limit. Port Metro Vancouver will also be on hand for kids activities, including colouring, games and boat building.
Proceeds from the festival and sale will help charities and non-profit groups like the Royal City Musical Theatre, the Food Bank and Burnaby Hospice.
