While cars may be the focal point of the show and shine, there will also be plenty of musical entertainment lined up to keep the crowds entertained all day on Sunday.

11 a.m. —

Steve Kozak and the

Westcoast Blues Revue

On the main stage is guitarist and singer Steve Kozak and the Westcoast Blues Revue. Kozak, a B.C.-born artist, has been singing and playing guitar since he was 16. He says his passion for the blues was inspired by meeting jazz legend Muddy Waters. Kozak’s Westcoast Blues Revue features a lineup of top notch performers who share a keen interest in hard hitting, authentic blues.

11 a.m. —

James Rogers Blues Band

Vancouver-based performer James Rogers has 22 years of musical experience and has toured Canada, Europe and the United States. His hard rolling Texas-style tunes are 80 percent original with the remaining 20 per cent consisting of covers from a variety of old blues legends.

Kozak and Rogers will be jamming at opposite ends of Columbia Street for two-hour sets but the music does not stop there.

Noon and ongoing —

roaming entertainment

Starting at noon three separate bands will hit the streets to provide roaming entertainment for all in attendance. Jazz enthusiasts will appreciate the funky beats and bold vibrations of RazzMaJazz and jazz soloist Double D.

Those seeking a different flavour will enjoy the traditional and upbeat music of Mexico presented by Vancouver’s own Mariachi Los Dorados.

1 p.m. — The Mojo Stars

The Mojo Stars take the stage at 1 p.m. Mark Rankin, Randy Clarke, Doug Jang, Graham and Mark Race head up this highly original blues/rock band with roots in R&B, funk and jazz.

Formed just two years ago, the band has already begun tearing up the music scene with high octane performances combining covers and over a set’s worth of originals.

The Mojo Stars headlined 2008’s show and shine and are back for another session of funked-up blues, swinging hard with classic R&B influences.

1 p.m. — New Orleans Ale Stars

Opposite to the Mojos are the New Orleans Ale Stars.

The Ale Stars have been brewing for five years and are proving to be a delicious and refreshing taste of jazz.

In addition to paying tribute to the greats, Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong respectively, these cool cats blend the New Orleans tradition with a smattering of Australian jazz and a handful of bob tunes to create a sound that can only be described as swingin’.
