New Westminster-based In Motion Technology won a B.C. Export award last Friday.

In Motion, located at 625 Agnes St. and considered a leader in mobile networking technologies that connect and manage equipment, information and people in the field, received the advanced technology award.

The annual Export Awards are handed out to companies successful in promoting B.C.-bred technologies and products in markets around the world.

“As our technology gains acceptance by organizations around the world, In Motion will continue to have a positive impact on the economy across Canada and here in B.C.,” said In Motion technology CEO Leonard Hordyk.

In Motion’s technology turns vehicles into wireless hotspots, allowing people and devices to access the Internet.

It also provides organizations with tools to manage vehicle fleets and personnel.

More than 225 municipal, healthcare, public safety, transportation and utility organizations now use the technology.

In Motion’s technology is especially useful to first responders who need to seamlessly access and supply data from their emergency vehicles while on the road.
