Where’s the local Olympic content?
I am stunned at the total lack of Canadian-made Olympic Games items in our Burnaby shops. Trying to buy Canadian-made items for my visiting Australian guests was impossible.
Nothing made in Canada. Why would any tourist want a foreign-made souvenir?
Try to buy a post card of Burnaby—nothing is available anywhere in the Lower Mainland.
What a sad testament—nothing to show that we have beauty here in our beloved Burnaby.
Vancouver postcards are available at every shop in Metrotown and Vancouver. Maybe the local chamber of commerce can correct this for locals and tourist needs.
Profit margins for the shops is obviously the motivation in souvenir/retail establishments.
