Burnaby-based Adoptive Families Association of B.C. was recognized Wednesday for its advocacy work with a Representative for Children and Youth Award of Excellence, one of four groups and two individuals honoured.
The awards, in their second year, are presented by current children and youth representative Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond to recognize dedication to making a difference in the lives of B.C.’s vulnerable children and youth.
AFABC was honoured particularly for its work raising awareness of the hundreds of B.C. teenagers who hope to be adopted.
